19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from that period of 2023.
Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to create a final set.
The opponent saved four early break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he clinched the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
