Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
