Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
