Ship Terminated After Tragic Loss of Woman Abandoned on Island

An extensive 60-day voyage circling the Land Down Under was terminated days after the death of an elderly female passenger who was left behind by the cruise liner on a distant island.

The passenger had been hiking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the vessel, but parted ways from the party for a break. The liner left without her and went back several hours later after the personnel discovered the woman was missing.
